Interislander offers daily ferry services across Cook Strait, linking New Zealand's North and South Islands.
The three conventional ferries – Kaitaki, Arahura and Aratere – take 3 hours to cruise around the lower North Island coastline and experience the peaceful Marlborough Sounds - a truly breathtaking entrance to the South Island.
All our vessels carry passengers and vehicles. Travel in comfort and style as you savour one of the world's most scenic ferry journeys.
Once on board enjoy a movie, a drink in the bar or anything from a snack to a three course meal. For families there is a nursery and children's play area and at the information centre you can exchange your foreign currency.
Cruising time is approximately 3 hours.

Please Note
Please book your ferry crossing as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. Especially during the peak season and if you have to take a vehicle with you it is highly recommended to pre-book the ferry.
As a foot passenger you have to be at the ferry terminal at least 30 minutes and with a vehicle at least 60 minutes before your departure time.
- Tickets are transferable to another sailing (subject to availability)
- Any amendments must be made prior to the check-in time
- 2 pieces of luggage are permitted per passenger (up to a total of 30kg)
